Quality & process

An export relationship is only as good as the consignment behind it. This is how a HorizonLink order moves from farm intake to bill of lading, and what is checked at each stage.

How an order is produced

  1. Sourcing at origin

Raw material is bought through established processing partners in the Maharashtra and Gujarat belts. Intake is graded on arrival and lots that fall outside the agreed band are rejected before they enter production.

  2. Processing & drying

Material is cleaned, sorted and dried under controlled conditions. Leaf products are shade-dried to protect colour and nutritional value; alliums are dried to a controlled residual moisture before milling.

  3. Milling & sieving

Powders are milled and sieved to the agreed mesh. Flakes are cut and screened to size. Metal detection and sieving remove foreign matter before packing.

  4. Quality control

Each lot is checked for moisture, mesh or cut size, colour, ash and foreign matter against the specification agreed with you. Third-party laboratory analysis is arranged where your market or your auditor requires it.

  5. Packing

Packed to your specified format in food-grade materials, with moisture barriers and palletisation chosen for the transit time and climate of your destination port.

  6. Documentation & dispatch

Commercial invoice, packing list, certificate of origin, phytosanitary certificate and certificate of analysis are prepared and shared, and the consignment is handed to the line.

Documentation supplied with every shipment

  • Commercial invoice and packing list
  • Bill of lading or airway bill
  • Certificate of origin
  • Phytosanitary certificate, where the destination requires one
  • Certificate of analysis for the shipped lot
  • Pre-shipment photographs of packed goods

Samples and pre-shipment inspection

We dispatch pre-production samples on request so you can run your own line trial before committing to a lot. For larger consignments we will arrange third-party pre-shipment inspection at your nominated agency, and share the report before the container is sealed.
